Performing Arts

Performing arts majorly comprise of music, dance, and drama. In India, all three art forms hold significant importance since ancient times. Soaked in spiritual hues, these classical and folk art forms portray 'liberation' as a core theme.

Over the years, thanks to the growing diversity of the country, India became home to a wide range of traditions rich in classical and folk art forms. Every region in India has its own folk music, dance, and drama tradition, and it is almost impossible to count them on fingers. In fact, it may even take an entire lifetime to learn and perfect even a single classical or folk art form. Such are the nuances inherent in them.

At Pratha, we attempt to explore, promote, and learn the history of these highly skill-oriented and vibrant performing arts of India.
